Hi
Interesting presentations thanks!
I’m considering how (and if) to use social media to benefit my small, Australian-based tourism business. BUT, my target market is Australians, 50+, and I don’t think many (if any) of them use twitter. I believe they only use facebook to keep in touch with distant ‘rellies’ or friends, but possibly do participate in chat forums. I’ve dabbled in facebook but go zero response & as a small business don’t have the time to get into chat forums.
Isn’t social media really only useful to reach the younger market? I feel I am better off devoting my time & energy to more traditional ‘old fashioned’ communications outlets to reach my target audience – accepting of course that one day the young ones will be old ones. However, as I, too am 50+, I will be retired by the time that happens! Would appreciate your comments on this as it is probably a question being asked by a lot of business with more mature clientele.
Cheers & thanks,
Jan.
